Day 1

You will be picked up by your guide at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Heading straight for the Namib Naukluft Park, you will get your first glimpse of this vast and beautiful country. After a quick stop at Solitaire, the journey continues to Sesriem. Sesriem is the gateway to Sossusvlei, which boasts the highest dunes in the world.

After inspecting our campsite and surrounding area, we take a short drive to the Sesriem Canyons. The Tsauchab River, which is responsible for this canyon, eventually ends up at Sossusvlei. If time allows, a short drive can be undertaken to the first view point, so that you can get a grasp of what you will face in the morning.

Camp Sesriem.

Day2

A very early start will see that we reach Sossus and Dead vlei at sunrise.  This means you will have a very good light for these stunning landscapes.  Dead vlei is a white pan, dotted with black trees from times gone by. Enclosed by very high orange coloured dunes with the blue sky as backdrop, you have a picture that is saying a thousand words.

In the afternoon, we can walk to Witberg, and maybe we will find some wildlife that could be worth photographing.  As the sun slowly sinks towards the west, the better light will again provides ample opportunities for more photographs of the dunes.

Camp Sesriem.

Day 3

If time allows we will use the early morning light for some more photo shoots in this magnificent area.  As the morning continues, we will pack up our camp and drive to Spitskoppe, the Namibian Matterhorn. Lunch will be had en-route, and that will enable us to reach the Spitskoppe before sunset.

While your guide is preparing the camp, you will have time to walk around and get a feel for this area.  This huge granitic outcrop changes colour as the sun sets in the west, presenting very good photographic opportunities. It will be the total opposite of the previous day, thus, making this tour one of its kind.

Camp Spitskoppe.

Day 4

As we will be camping inside the Spitskoppe area, the early morning light can be captured at the first possible moment.  As this area is quite big, other areas can be investigated to enhance your photographic opportunities.  The afternoon will be spent inspecting and exploring the different Bushmen paintings that are present in the area. The Small Bushmen's Paradise, Bushmen's Paradise and Snake Rock are the three main sites that will be visited.  The last part of the day will once again be used solely for photos.  By this time, you will have gotten to know the area a little better and have an excellent opportunity to capture the changing light and landscapes on film

Camp Spitskoppe.

Day 5

The early morning sunlight will present some last minute opportunities for you to snap away before we leave for Damaraland. Travelling mainly on gravel roads, we will reach the town of Uis about mid-day.  After replenishing our supplies, we head to Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia. Mountains of this size present another angle for the professional photographer. Add to this the possibility of seeing desert elephant, and you have, once again, a very unique opportunity to capture raw natural beauty with your camera.

Camp Ugab Wilderness.

Day 6

Today see us heading off into the wilderness of Damaraland. We travel north towards the Doros Crater and its associated mountains.  The mountains and hills that lie on the south bank of the Huab River allow us even more unique photo opportunities. As we will arrive just after lunch in this area, we will search for a suitable campsite and then start exploring the area.  This will enable you to get the right angles and potential photos when the sun starts to set.

Camp Doros River.

Day 7

Getting up very early in the morning and getting to the right position will enable you to observe the immense beauty of the desert as the sun rises.  The plains will come to life, and with the mountains as a backdrop, you have the perfect opportunity to capture this Wild West scene.  Driving further north will take us past Twyfelfontein, a world heritage site, and then on towards our next destination, Etosha National Park.

As we will arrive just before sunset, we head straight for Okaukuejo and prepare camp. Okaukuejo has a floodlit waterhole, so photo opportunities will still be present, even late into the night.

Camp Okaukuejo.

Day 8

By preparing early in the morning, we will be able to leave as soon as the gates to the park open. This will enable you to have the soft morning sunlight when photographing game in their natural environment.  The rest of the day will be used visiting different waterholes and hopefully seeing new potential photo prospects.

As the afternoon approaches, we will head to your favourite waterhole for some photos, or slowly make our way back to Okaukuejo to catch the last of the sun's rays at the waterhole there.

Camp Okaukuejo.

Day 9

This will be the last day of this safari. The early morning light can be used one more time to capture landscapes, animals, and people of Africa.  After our camp has been packed up, we start heading back to Windhoek. On the way, we will have a stop at the Okahandja Wood carvers, and you will be given the opportunity to buy some memorabilia.  This will enable us to reach Hosea Kutako International Airport in time for your flight home.
